Roger D. Metcalf D.D.S. J.D. is a forensic odontologist located in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.A. The scope of his practice includes identification of unidentified human remains and bitemark analysis, age analysis, as well as civil litigation support in malpractice actions or administrative matters. Dr. Metcalf has been qualified as, and has testified as, an expert witness in forensic dentistry in murder and capital murder trials in Texas courts.
Roger holds a B.S. degree in biology from Baylor University and a D.D.S. from Baylor College of Dentistry. He has completed the Fellowship in Forensic Odontology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, Center for Education and Research in Forensics. Roger practiced general dentistry in Arlington, Texas, for 27 years before being appointed to the full-time position of Director of the Human ID Lab and Chief Forensic Odontologist for Tarrant County, Texas. He is board-certified by the American Board of Forensic Odontology, and currently serves on the Certification & Examination Committee. Roger is also a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in Fort Worth.
